This standard specifies the principle,equipment,test pieces,test conditions,test procedures,validation of test results and test report for the determination of elastic modulus,tensile strength,hardness and stress-strain curve of metallic materials based on the indentation method. This standard is applicable to thedetermination of the elastic modulus,tensile strength,Rockwell hardness and stress-strain curve in the stage of uniform deformation of metallic materials that are homogeneous,isotropic and following power-law strain hardening.It is also applicable to the conversion between the tensile strength and hardness,as well as the conversion between values of Brinell hardness,Rockwell hardness and Vickers hardness.
