适用范围：1.1 This method describes five test procedures for the estimation of consistency of lubricating greases by measuring the penetration of a standard cone. Procedures are given for the measurement of unworked, undis-turbed, worked, prolonged work and block penetration. For penetrations up to 400 Type A cone shown in Fig. 2A and for penetrations above 400 and up to 475 Type B cone shown in Fig. 2B shall be used.1.1.1 Undisturbed and unworked penetrations do not generally repre-sent the consistency of greases in use as effectively as do worked penetra-tions. The latter are usually preferred for inspecting lubricating greases.1.1.2 Penetration of block greases may be obtained on those products which are sufficiently hard to hold their shape.
