适用范围：1.1 This standard covers the requirements of enclosures for electrical apparatus of dust-tight ignition-proof ( DIP ) construction intended for use in atmospheres laden with combustible dusts which react with the gaseous atmosphere surrounding them and dusts which are explosive in nature.1.1.1 The characteristics of typical combustible/explosive dusts are given in Appendix A for the sake of general information. The list is not exhaustive.Note — It does not imply that DIP enclosure shall withstand the explosion due to dust present inside the enclosure.1.2 All exposed current carrying parts of apparatus, such as secondary batteries, secondary cells, receptacles and attachment plugs if used in conductive or semiconductive dust atmosphere should be housed within the dust-tight ignition-proof enclosure so as to avoid short-circuiting of the exposed live parts.1.3 Dust-tight ignition-proof lighting fittings intended for use in atmos-phere laden with explosive dusts should comply with the requirements of this standard over and above those specified in IS : 4013-1967*. Wher-ever the requirements differ in the two standards, the requirements of this standard ( IS : 11005-1984 ) shall apply.
