It is intended to be applied to all types of fibre-optic interconnecting devices and passive optical components. The family of applicable types includes, but is not limited to, passive devices used for connection, branching, switching, minimization of reflection, control of power/attenuation, dispersion compensation, modulation and wavelength selection or filtering. Closures may be included in the future.
