适用范围：1.1 This standard deals with the definitions of terms and symbols used in connection with the measurement of liquid flow with a free surface. The terms and definitions are grouped in the following sections:a) General;b) Liquid flow measurement in open channels by velocity area methods;c) Liquid flow measurement in open channels by slope area method;d) Establishment and operation of a gauging station and determina-tion of the stage discharge relation;e) Liquid flow measurement in open channels by notches, weirs and flumes;f) Measurement of flow in tidal channels; andg) Liquid flow measurement in open channels by dilution methods.1.1.1 A list of symbols common to all the standards is given in Appendix A.1.2 Terms relating to more than one method are given in the ' General' section. Therefore, a reference to both the ' General ' section and the particular method of measurement may be necessary.
