适用范围：This International Standard specifies terms and definitions relating to dredgers, with the aim of giving clear enough defini-tions for every term for them to be under-stood by all specialists. It applies only to equipment which is used for the creation and maintenance of navi-gable waterways and the extraction of soil. The terms specified in this International Standard are intended to be used in do-cumentation of all kinds. Use of syn-onyms for the standardized terms, which are generally not included in this Stan-dard, is not recommended. Certain stan-dardized terms are also given with their abridged version: these may be used in cases where no possibility of misinter-pretation can arise. Combination of terms are allowed in ap-plication. In cases when a definition contains a term defined elsewhere in the Standard, the corresponding item number follows in brackets.
