适用范围：1.1 This Kenya Standard specifies the requirements far manually-operated wall, ceiling and appliance switches of the surface, semi-recessed or flush mounting type having a rating of up to and including 63 A and suitable for use in a.c. and d.c. circuits up to and including 250 volts, and switches for control of lighting fittings.1.2 This specification applies to switches for domestic and similar general purposes, for wall or ceiling mounting for . incorporation in cords or lamp holders or mounting on or in suitable appliances for which the duty imposed and the operating conditions do not require a performance exceeding that covered by the tests specified in this Kenya Standard.1?3 Switches for appliances in which the conditions, of service and duty differ from those stated in 1.2 shall be covered by a separate Kenya Standard.1.4 This specification does not cover contactors, circuit breakers, isolating switches, automatic temperature-responsive switches, mercury switches for cooker heating elements, switch fuses or splitter fuses.2 DEFINITIONS For the purpose' of this standard, the following definitions shall apply:2.1 surface type switch — A switch provided with a seating so that when mounted, it projects wholly above the surface on which it is mounted.2.2 flush type switch — A switch for mounting behind or incorporated with a switch plate, the back of the plate being flush with the surface of the wall or switch box.2.3 semi-recessed switch — A switch for mounting with its base partially sunk into the surface of a wall or enclosure.?2.4 tumbler switch — A switch operated by moving an actuating member called dolly in a plane perpendicular to the base of the switch.2.5 lord-operated ceiling switch — A switch for mounting ona ceiling or suitable overhead surface and operated by means Df a cord or the like.2?6 push-button switch — A switch operated by a push button.
