Even if the WHO definition of health acknowledgedly establishes the social well being as one of severaldeterminants of health in general, social wellfare is out of the scope of this European Standard. If certainconcepts addressed in this European Standard might be felt useful for other kinds of care provision thanhealth care, it is not recommended to do so without carefully re-appraising their specific relevance to thesedistinct uses; this could be the topic for other future standards.
