适用范围：1.1 This standard prescribes the recommended procedure for detection of cracks and other discontinuities in welds by the magnetic particle inspection method at or near the surface. The method is applicable only to ferromagnetic materials in which the weld metal is also ferromagnetic.1.2 This standard does not lay down any requirements for the acceptance or rejection of welds on which flaws have been revealed. This shall be subject to mutual agreement between the contracting parties. This agreement may provide details with regard to:a) the welds or sections of welds to be inspected,b) the techniques to be used,c) the type of discontinuities to be accepted, andd) reworking and subsequent retesting which may be permissible.
