适用范围：This part of ISO 639 provides a code consisting oflanguage code elements comprising two-letter languageidentifiers for the representation of names oflanguages. The language identifiers according to thispart of ISO 639 were devised originally for use in terminology,lexicography and linguistics, but may beadopted for any application requiring the expressionof language in two-letter coded form, especially incomputerized systems. The alpha-2 code was devisedfor practical use for most of the major languagesof the world that are not only most frequently representedin the total body of the world’s literature, butwhich also comprise a considerable volume of specializedlanguages and terminologies. Additional languageidentifiers are created when it becomesapparent that a significant body of documentationwritten in specialized languages and terminologiesexists. Languages designed exclusively for machineuse, such as computer-programming languages, arenot included in this code.
