It permits only those substances to be examined that have a sufficiently low vapour pressure and arenot subject to appreciable loss under the test conditions set out below, Furthermore, suitable analyticalmethods may need to be used to detect the substances or elements inthe complex digestive solutions.In the system described here, the mobilization of organic and inorganic contaminants from contaminatedmaterial with the aid of synthetic digestive juices (gastric juice and intestinal juice and, in some cases, alsosaliva) is examined under standardized, physiologically realistic conditions.
