适用范围：1.1 This standard is applicable to capacitor units and capacitor banks intended to be used, in particular, for power factor correction of ac power systems having a rated voltage up to and including 650 V and frequency 15 to 60 Hz.NOTES1 Additional requirements for capacitors protected by internal element fuses, as well as requirements for the internal fuses, are given in IS 12672 : 1989 'Internal fuses and internal overpressure discon-nectors for shunt capacitors'.2 The capacitors covered by this standard may also be used with electric arc furnaces, the guidelines to which are given in Annex A.1.2 This standard does not cover the following types of capacitors, for which following Indian Standards have been prepared:IS No. Title1569 : 1976 Capacitors for use in tubularfluorescent, high pressure mercury and low pressure sodium vapour discharge lamp circuits (first revision)1709 : 1984 Capacitors for electric fanmotors (first revision )2993 : 1975 Motor capacitors9251:1979 Capacitors for inductive heatgenerating plants operating at frequencies between 40 and 24 000 Hz9348 : 1979 Coupling capacitor and capa-citor divider9835 : 1981 Series capacitors for powersystems11530: 1985 Voltage grading capacitor11548 : 1986 Capacitors for surge protec-tion for use in voltage system above 650 V and up to 33 kV13340 : 1992 Shunt capacitor of self-healingtype for ac power systems of up to and including 650 V1.3 Accessories such as insulators, switches, instrument transformers, fuses, etc, shall be in accordance with the relevant Indian Standards.
