适用范围：1.1 This standard ( Part I) covers direct-on-line starters for industrial use, intended to start and accelerate a motor to normal speed and to provide means for the protection of the motor and its associated circuits against overloads, and to cause intentionally the motor to stop.1.1.1 It applies only to starters, the main contacts of which are intended to be connected to circuits the rated voltage of which does not exceed 1 000 V ac.1.1.2 This standard also applies to reversing starters.Note — The special provisions in this standard regarding reversing starters apply only to those starters which are intended to cause the motor to reverse direction of rotation by reversing the motor primary connections while it is running, that is when plugging operation is involved ( see Table 1 and 9.2.3.6). In other words, normal provision of direct-on-line starters will also apply to those reversing starters where plugging operation is not involved.1.2 The clauses of this standard relating to overload protection are not applicable in the case of controlgear relying for its operation on built-in over temperature protective devices. Note— ' Built-in ' means built into the motor.1.3 The direct-on-line starters dealt with in this standard are not designed to interrupt short-circuit currents. Therefore, suitable short-circuit protection (see Appendix A) should form part of the installation, but not necessarily in the starter.1.4 The special requirement for starters intended for use in railways, road vehicles or in aircraft are not covered in this standard.1.5 The starters used in ships shall also comply with any supplementary requirements.1.6 The service conditions for which the starters conforming to this specification are suitable, are given in Appendix B.
