适用范围：Revises Standard 140-2007 (including published Addenda a and b) to meet current International Code Council (ICC) requirements for mandatory language in standards cited in its model codes. Major changes are: (1) the replacement of ôpermissiveö language such as ôshouldö by normative language such as ôshallö; and (2) the reorganization of key sections to separate and distinguish between normative and informative parts of the standard clearly. While the intent is to leave the standard's test methods unchanged, the revisions are extensive and some of them could be regarded by some reviewers as potentially substantive.
